Ben & Lisa Newton
The Newton's left the port of San Francisco aboard s/v Waking Dream in 2002, heading for new adventures & to check out how different cultures live.
Loving the sailing life, they cruised Mexico and then backpacked the amazing countries of Central America. In 2004 they set-off in Waking Dream across the Pacific & made landfall in the So Pac islands of the Marquesas, Fr Poly. After spending a season exploring the So Pac islands along the way, they fell in love w/ Tonga and decided to stay-on in Vava'u
These guys can't sit in the bars all day long and so they volunteered on local projects to get more involved in the Tongan community. They then started up Vava'u Adventures and the Aquarium Cafe & Internet for some fun projects to keep them busy. Despite living & working on 'Tonga-time', they have tons of energy for all of this as they are definitely addicted to the Costa Rican arabica their cafe serves!
Ben & Lisa still reside aboard Waking Dream and spend their time away from the office to cruise the islands of Vava'u. They both still have the travel-bug, but for the moment, living and working in Tonga is as much of a cruising adventure as any.
